Soft Tissue Laser Dentistry in Park Holme
Our Technology
We’re proud to offer the S1 Soft Tissue Laser at our office. This cutting-edge investment allows our dentists to provide accurate, minimally invasive treatments and faster recovery times for your procedures.
The S1 laser uses powerful light diode technology to safely remove gum (gingiva) tissues in areas that require treatment such as surgery or aesthetic attention.
Improved Healing and Comfort
Performing soft tissue therapies with the S1 laser allows for naturally decreased bleeding and swelling for biologically quicker healing. The S1 laser enables us to pinpoint precise areas within your mouth without damaging the surrounding healthy tissues.
Types of Soft Tissue Laser Treatment
With the S1 Soft Tissue Laser, we can provide therapies such as
- Gummy smile treatment: Uneven gumlines or “gummy” smiles can detract from your appearance. The S1 laser allows us to create a new gumline contour for aesthetically enhanced results.
- Gingivectomies and crown lengthening: Excess gum tissues can be removed to expose a larger surface of healthy tooth structure. Crown lengthening is typically used in areas of gum disease or when a restorative crown (“cap”) is needed, but there is limited tooth surface visible above the gums.
- Oral surgery: When an un-erupted tooth needs to be brought down with braces or extracted, a soft tissue laser offers a minimally invasive method for removing gum tissue surrounding it. We also use lasers during wisdom tooth removal to expose un-erupted or impacted teeth.
- Gum disease management: Diseased tissues can be removed, preventing periodontitis from spreading further into the bone and surrounding soft tissues. Lasers treat infected areas while leaving healthy cells intact.
- Cold sore removal: When caught early enough, we can treat areas of cold sores and aphthous ulcers to speed up healing. Most people find that it cuts recovery time in half.
